Video-rough cut

After showing our rough cut to our classmates; who represents our target audience as they are aged either 16 years old or 17 years old. They gave us some positive and negative feedbacks: Positive feedback was that the video successfully made the audience feel excited and scared during some scenes such as the nightmare scene, where Ethan was being chased.

However, the negative feedbacks was that near the beginning of the scene, Ethan doesn’t seem to be wearing jacket but in the next scene where he enters the psychiatrist’s room he suddenly has his jacket on. This means I have to do that particular scene again and make sure Ethan wears the same jacket he wore when he entered the psychiatrist’s room. Then, the scene where I used a transition to zoom in to show Ethan’s past was too quick, so I made the transition longer which lasted about 45 second. Also, the scene which interprets the nightmare contained video effects which made the scene look purple and from what our audience told us, it looks alright but would be better if the purple scene wasn’t there. Lastly, our audience said that the ending scene was a bit too shaky when it was panning upwards. From these feedbacks, I will make sure to go through my editing again and redo some scenes and make them look more professional so that my audience will feel as if they are watching an actual mainstream movie.
